The local WGBA news team aired a propaganda segment claiming a police polygraph examiner gets valid results. But, since the examiner administers and evaluates the examination, the result will be skewed. Not to mention, that police sometimes judge a person guilty prematurely and then institutional bias will kick in.

Dirty Rotten Prosecutor Tricks

In 1993, Vilas County Prosecutor Steve Lucareli came up with a novel way to win as case. He filed felony charges against the defense attorney just before the beginning of a trial and then wanted the defense attorney removed so Lucareli could get a delay.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court condoned this.

The written confession of Brendan Dassey resulting from the Mishicot High School interrogation was obtained with the prompts and additions from the interrogators. Due to the poor quality of their recording technique, Special Prosecutor Ken Kratz instructed them to conduct a second session on 27 February, 2006.

Calumet County Investigator Mark Wiegert and Wisconsin Special Agent Tom Fassbender claimed that the 27 February session at Mishicot High School was an interview. It was a full blown interrogation with the intrepid two stating from the onset that the sixteen‑year‑old special education student Brendan Dassey saw a body in the bonfire of 31 October, 2005. They would accept nothing that was contrary. Dassey was not safe in his school. No school official was present.

Those in charge of police agencies need to stress the need to be open‑minded and thorough. It is the responsibility of the management to ensure correct results rather than assumptions based upon desired outcomes. Good evidence will speak for itself. Bad evidence will lose cases or even worse, convict the innocent.
